The world has seen and appreciated the well staged, in repetition, cricket delight. The ‘Indian Premier League’. There may have a few heart burns but that’s mainly restricted to the few who have invested from their pockets very heavy sums of money. It’s absolutely natural for them to expect good returns for their money. Hence, its commercial sense to ‘buy’ such players who are available with least’ burdens’ as overheads. Security these days is not something to be scoffed at. Apart from loosing face, good name of the country, set back to the game of cricket and the financial loss, that is to be borne by the investors also. So not picking up players from Pakistan makes commercial sense presently, period.
Now, we have a good Media, and, a responsible one at that. But, even they at times ‘excel’ themselves. Media does shout from the roof top to ‘sell’ their wares. They perforce place the country at the second stead at such times, and often not too innocently. They too are ‘victims’ of demands of commerce. But loosing face to spite the nose is not a very good policy, not under any circumstance.
Pakistan, as expected ‘cried’ out loud. They are under the impression that the World over governments are as good / bad as they are. They have ‘stalwarts’ who immediately react to any given situation and then give thought (if any) to find a reason to suit the ‘blurb’. I am amused at the reactions as published in the newspapers, quoting Mr. Imran Khan, the erstwhile cricket icon and present day politician. IPL is, and well known the world over as a commercial cricket circus. To refer it to ICC is not only farfetched, but not understood. While the world body can and does keep its eyes open to the game, it certainly has no jurisdiction over commercial matters. That is the concern of the National Controlling body. I don’t think any individual has the right to suggest as to what one should do with his or her money when it comes to purchasing any commodity in the open market. The available players are ‘OBJECTS / ITEMS’ WHO HAVE BEEN PLACED BEFORE THE BUYING PUBLIC AND THAT TOO IN OPEN AUCTION. Mr. Imran and Mr. Zaheer are well aware of the political ‘situation’ in their country and its repercussions on India. One would be out of his mind to go and 'buy' TROUBLE, even if it is given out for free.

CRIMINALS--DOWNUNDER!
CRIMINALS—DOWNUNDER!
Mr. Peter Verghese, the Australian High Commissioner to India, at New Delhi almost disposed off the assaults on Indian in Australia as acts of petty criminals.
Mr. Peter Verghese, you have done Australia proud. I wonder the same could be said by your ethnic colleagues. I am sure, even you’re near and dear in Australia must be looking over their shoulder, every time they are in a bus or subway or in any sparsely populated locality of their city of residence. Mr. Peter Verghese, have you of late been all by yourself in Australia without your Official entourage. I am sure even you would be hesitant.
The acts, as per your statement, criminal as they are, prove only one thing that indeed the ‘white’ is descendant of that group that was initially deported from Brittan. Of what little we know of the plight of the aboriginals, indeed Australia is a land of ‘petty criminals’. The Australian Law and machinery just does not have the ‘will’ to do anything positive and fast. Lack of action perforce makes us to believe of the ‘connivance’.
A political party has given a call to ensure no Australian cricket team participates in a tournament in Maharashtra. I do not agree. This is no way to retaliate and abuse our own good behavior. Rather, I shall endeavor to encourage my countrymen to boycott such matches. But off the field, display to each of the members of the team, such a level of hospitality that they feel taken aback of their countrymen’s’ acts of violence.
I do believe that we have in our country a very high level of education system. Unfortunately, the paucity of institutions makes many a Parents see-off their siblings to far of shores. It’s my Prayer, that the Authorities here look in to this aspect and improve upon the present situation and quick. Let us not loose our potential efficient manpower to such ‘petty criminals. The future will not forgive us of this folly.
